Zach Miner had a strong outing and Dave Ross had 2 base hits at the ballpark
where the SSB SSB Tar Heels beat the Columbus Crowd by the score of 5 to
4.
SSB had 3 runs cross the plate in the 7th inning with the help of 3 hits. The
highlight belonged to Derrek Lee who disappointed the partisan crowd when he
doubled bringing in two baserunners. Columbus threatened in the 9th but SSB
was able to put down the rally.
The victory went to Miner(2-5) who went 4 and 1/3 innings, allowing no runs.
Brad Lidge gained credit for his 27th save. The loss was charged to Jorge De
La Rosa(4-2).
Despite losing Frank Lopeman was optimistic after the game. 'We'll get over
this one. Sometimes the breaks fall your way, sometimes they don't. Any one
of a dozen little things go different, and we come out on top.'
